The only time I tried mangosteen it was $6 a pop — this was a few years ago when it started to come into the markets in Berkeley. It was described in an article Mike read as “the most delicious fruit EVAR”. From what I remember it was good, but not the most cost effective fruit to eat. I think the price may have gone down since so it may be time to give this tropical fruit a go again.
