PEARLS OF WISDOM Mermaid Mandala
It’s all about listening to yourself, being centered, being calm. We all have massive amounts of wisdom inside but we rarely do we listen. We have learned to listen to parents, to friends, to weirdos on TV but – in this society – we have not been taught to listen to ourselves first. And I think that’s a recipe for sadness.
You have so many pearls of wisdom inside you, mermaid. You just have to stop long enough to listen – you have 5 minutes to listen to yourself, no?
Here’s what I do to find my wisdom…
– Put on some spa-like music (I like the Apple Music Spa Station but Pandora or Spotify probably have similar.) –
– Set a timer for 5-10 minutes (longer if you want) –
– Sit comfortably, with arms open, ready to receive –
– Close eyes –
– Repeat a mantra “Return to Self” in my head (choose whatever mantra suits you) –
– Roll my neck to get out any kinks, noticing how I feel (this is usually where I hold my tension) –
– Do this until my timer goes off (best if your timer makes a peaceful sound when it goes off) –
– Open eyes and notice how I feel –
While meditating, if you find yourself veering into worry, your to-do list, etc. just go back to your mantra and focus on noticing how you feel and treat these moments as though you are seeing clouds pass in the sky.
Try this every day for a week and see if you feel different. It’s a practice, so be patient with yourself, mermaid. Hopefully you will feel more centered and calm. It’s all for you.
